“It costs nothing to be kind.”
As a child and adolescent, my challenges at home continuously followed me into the classroom. Not only did this stress influence my academics, but the lack of knowing how to cope with life’s challenges left me feeling anxious, afraid, and insecure about who I was. I knew I needed to do something but I didn’t know what. It was only after the death of my father at the young age of 16, that I was able to see that I wasn’t coping with the stress in healthy ways. At the time I needed guidance, I needed healthy coping skills that supported my emotional wellbeing, I needed ways to increase my confidence and decrease my anxiety. As the years went on and my curiosity increased about the different ways I could manage my stress and improve my overall well-being, I was able to get what I needed and so much more. Since then, my self-development journey ultimately turned into a career focusing on the topics of self-esteem, self-care, and the importance of connection. I am inspired to help create confidence, connection, and life skills in the lives of youth and those around them.
