“There’s always light at the end of the tunnel”. In my early stages of adolescence I was unaware of the seriousness of mental health. I was worried about others’ thoughts of me and learned to push my emotions aside. This caused me to lack self-confidence, communication skills, and I isolated myself from others. In high school I understood the root of my problem, when I was not being bullied anymore and by having a great mentor, actively participating in sports, and having these difficult conversations with friends and family. These decisions help me understand and become the person I am today – a person who understands their mind, body, and health. Today as a Youth Facilitator I share my story, so that it will help and inspire others.

We are currently recruiting people who have a passion to contribute to the overall well-being of youth by joining our Board of Directors and/or other volunteer opportunities. The benefits of volunteering include excellent opportunity for involvement in a meaningful experience, the satisfaction of making a difference in the community and with youth, an opportunity to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds, the development of effective decision-making skills and an increased understanding of group dynamics and relationships.
