Youth Facilitator/Speaker

Being able to find my voice was the hardest yet most rewarding tool that has helped me through my struggles.

At an early age, I found myself wanting to be accepted by classmates and peers. I was often excluded, made fun of and bullied for my appearance and differences. This led me to shy away from who I really was. I was raised in an abusive household which didn’t make life easier for me at home. I struggled with finding my voice and speaking upon the abuse that I was faced with at home and at school. This also led me to struggle with my mental health and self-identity.

Slowly but surely I was inspired to use my voice for those who felt like they didn’t have one. As I had graduated as a Social Service Worker, I wanted to create awareness for the youth who are faced with similar situations and share the importance of working on one’s mental health. It is important to remember that you do not have to struggle in silence.

I hope that my story can help the youth find their voice and that we as a collective can bring forward awareness towards mental health by providing the proper education, tools, communication and empathy to our generation and generations to come.
