’There is no one alive who is youer than you’– Dr. Suess…

Growing up in different countries, I’ve always strived to do one thing—fit in. I tried to adapt to the people around me slowly changing bits and pieces of myself. However, as I began fading away these parts, I felt empty inside. This affected me as I struggled with depression, anxiety and body image issues. I was preoccupied with seeking validation from others and coping through the pain in isolation. As I pushed away anyone’s’ attempts at communication, I began being overwhelmed with feelings of hopelessness. That is when the pain inside became unbearable. I knew I needed help and I could no longer do it alone. I reached out to my family and friends, and with their support I started to find pockets of light. On my journey towards recovery, I filled those missing parts of myself with self-love instead of other’s validation. Now I understand the beauty of unconditional self-acceptance. Through life’s struggles it so important to be kind to yourself and be the best YOU, you can be!”
