Equity Lead, Youth Facilitator
“The only way to find your voice is to use it” Jen Muller. For a very long time I struggled to find my voice. I was extremely shy and soft spoken. This resulted in me being in abusive and negative situations which ultimately took a toll on my mental health. I felt alone, depressed and struggled to love myself.
It wasn’t until I started reaching out to people and finding positive outlets in my life to make those negative feelings turn into positive ones. I began writing and journaling as a positive coping tool and eventually started sharing my passion with the rest of the world. Through my writing I was able to find my voice for not only myself but for others as well. I am happy to be a community activist and youth speaker today who is dedicated to being the voice for not only myself but youth, and minority groups in my community.“
Join our Team
We are currently recruiting people who have a passion to contribute to the overall well-being of youth by joining our Board of Directors and/or other volunteer opportunities. The benefits of volunteering include excellent opportunity for involvement in a meaningful experience, the satisfaction of making a difference in the community and with youth, an opportunity to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds, the development of effective decision-making skills and an increased understanding of group dynamics and relationships.
