I faced quite a bit of unease around being judged, not for my character, morals, beliefs, or actions, but solely based on the color of my skin. These experiences diminished my confidence and sense of security. It took me some time to recognize my inherent worth, to find my voice, assert my presence, and be comfortable to engage socially. In a world with billions of people, fixating on potential disapproval is unnecessary, when there exists a vast majority ready to embrace and appreciate everything you bring to the table. My core message is to avoid the trap of comparing yourself to others, it will steal away the joys of life. Stay authentic, let your energy radiate, and you will naturally draw those who genuinely belong in your life to support and uplift you.

We are currently recruiting people who have a passion to contribute to the overall well-being of youth by joining our Board of Directors and/or other volunteer opportunities. The benefits of volunteering include excellent opportunity for involvement in a meaningful experience, the satisfaction of making a difference in the community and with youth, an opportunity to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds, the development of effective decision-making skills and an increased understanding of group dynamics and relationships.
