Krysa

(She/Her) Youth Speaker

“As someone who grew up with severe anxiety, depression and learning disabilities, interacting with others was hard. I would get panic attacks when talking to people that I had known for years and this would cause me to freeze and not say anything. This led to me closing myself off from the world and focussing my life into being online. I fell down a rabbit hole of anxiety and depression that felt like it kept getting deeper and deeper until I couldn’t make it out anymore. This was capped off when I felt as though I had nobody I could go to. I felt completely and utterly alone as if I had reached the bottom of the pit.

However, what lifted me up was something as simple as a friend from my past reaching out. This showed me that if I really looked around, I had people who could lift me up and out of that hole that I once thought would be impossible to escape.

I decided then that I would dedicate myself to helping share my story with others to show them that they are not alone. Even in your darkest hour, there is always light.”
