Lolita
Trainer, Youth Facilitator/Speaker
“I speak about the struggles of growing up in a poverty stricken (priority) neighborhood, how incidents of racism led me to plant a seed of self-hate which over the years grew into low self-esteem and anger issues. Not having the proper support and dealing with constant anxiety lead me to getting in trouble with the law, substance abuse problems and ultimately homelessness. The message I share with youth is about my journey with planting new seeds of self-compassion, love. Looking back at these difficult moments helped me to build strength in character, independence and resilience, and most Importantly understanding the importance of self-love.”
Join our Team
We are currently recruiting people who have a passion to contribute to the overall well-being of youth by joining our Board of Directors and/or other volunteer opportunities. The benefits of volunteering include excellent opportunity for involvement in a meaningful experience, the satisfaction of making a difference in the community and with youth, an opportunity to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds, the development of effective decision-making skills and an increased understanding of group dynamics and relationships.
